And Sam Makes Seven.: Big, big, big, BIG News!!!!

After 23 months, 4 weeks, and 2 days since beginning our adoption, almost two full years of blogging in 310 posts, one failed adoption attempt, and 6 months, 3 weeks and 6 days in the RMI program, I finally, FINALLY get to write the post I've been waiting all this time to write!

The call came about an hour ago, and...

WE HAVE A SON!

I told you it would be a boy, didn't I? I knew it! He was born November 16th, so he's about 4 months old. That's all I can tell you for now, only because that's all I know. We'll get more information soon. I can't wait to see his precious face and show him off to all of you! I will as soon as I'm able- I promise.

We should be travelling anywhere from two to six weeks from now. Can you believe it?

Dear Sam,

Tonight I can finally fall asleep knowing that you are not just a vague whisper of hope or a misguided fantasy. You are real. You are loved. And you are mine. I can't wait to hold you in my arms. See you soon, my precious boy.

5/28/09- Arrive home- Our jouney and our family are complete!!
5/27/09- Fly home
5/26/09- Pick up docs at embassy
5/21/09- Docs leave Manila for Majuro
5/11/09- Docs arrive in Manila
5/7/09- Docs leave Hono. for Manila
5/04/09- Docs arrive in Honolulu
4/29/09- Mail immigration pkg.
4/27/09- Adoption Day! Sam is ours!
4/25/09- Arrived in Majuro
4/23/09- Leave Kansas City
3/31/09- Received Sam's referral!!
3/12/09- Received I171-H, and sent it to agency
3/03/09- Dossier sent to agency
2/11/09- Fingerprinted at USCIS for I600a extension
1/31/09- Received updated homestudy
1/29/09- Received FBI clearances (although they've been done since Nov. 3, 2008)
11/01/08- Homestudy visit with social worker
10/24//08- Mailed agency contract and first program fee
10/23/08- Mailed extension for I171-h and fingerprints to FBI
9/25/08- Application approved, dossier compilation begins
9/04/08- Submitted application to Journeys of the Heart for the RMI program
9/01/08- Vietnam program closed
12/18/07- Dossier arrived in Vietnam
Late March/Early April, 2007- Decided to adopt and began researching agencies. Chose WACAP's new Vietnam program and were approved. Started compiling paperwork for VN dossier
