Bomb Threat

Here's the kind of excitement nobody wants: We just received a pre-recorded call from the high school, saying a note was discovered at the school today with a bomb threat that is supposed to go off tomorrow. The school will be open with regular classes, but under increased security measures. However, student absences will be excused for those who wish to keep their kids at home. Well, gee... That's nice. My kids are not going. I'm sure it will turn out to be nothing- all just some sick, twisted, psycho hoax, but some chances aren't worth taking. Please keep the kids and teachers in your prayers tomorrow. This is scary stuff.

Oh, hoping all is well and yeah, my kids would stay home too. Sorry you are having to deal with this.

ACK. That is downright scary. I would totally keep my kids home. Hope they find who made the threat and deal with them appropriately!!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, it is probably just some kid who thinks that this is funny and not an actual psychopath. A few years ago, I taught at a school where we had 7 bomb threats in one semester! It was clearly just some kids who wanted to get out of class. But the sneaks didn't get caught until the 7th time! Their fatal mistake was actually phoning in the threat from a phone ON school property! It is probably a smart thing to keep the kids at home 1.) because it could be a psychopath and 2.) because NOTHING gets done at school on a bomb threat day. Mostly, you just sit around in the football stadium while the police search the building.
