Mike Huckabee responds to evolution question
I know you guys aren't reading this blog to hear my political opinions, so I'm not going to start a big political discussion or cram my views down your throat. There are other forums for that kind of thing and many other people who can do it better than I. However, I also know some of you are fellow Christians and might be interested in this. If you don't want to hear it, don't click "Play." Mike Huckabee is a Christian running for Pres. and this is a snip from a recent debate hosted by CNN. I thought he did an excellent job answering this question and standing up to Wolf Blitzer and felt it deserved a little attention. Don't worry- I won't do this to you very often ;).

What an amazing video. I first heard about Mike Huckabee in New Man magazine, as they were endorsing him. Watching this video has been about the 4th example I've seen or heard about in the last week where people are a lot bolder in their faith than I am. I think God is trying to tell me something. Thanks for posting it!
Personally, I do believe evolution is just a theory. Creation and evolution both require faith, and frankly, evolution requires more faith than I can muster. I do agree that science points to the majesty and power of God and His wisdom. Christians are not morons, incapable of understanding scientific terminology. We merely choose not to accept false doctrine disguised as science. I believe that real science supports the Bible and not evolution. Scientific laws can be proven through observation and repetition. Evolution is a theory because it has not been proven. Who has personally observed evolution happening right now? Who was there to see it billions of years ago? There is an excellent children's book, called "Yellow and Pink," by William Steig that sums it up beautifully. It makes a great argument against the theory of evolution and points out some of its absurdities. Thanks for allowing me to share my opinions! I think Mike Huckabee's answer was outstanding! I want to say that I think Mike Huckabee was articulate and very well spoken. I did not hear or see any gross misunderstanding of scientific terminology in what he had to say. However just to comment on the comment from alice, I would like to say that as a christian I believe that The Word of God is just that, The Word Of God. Now if the Bible tells me that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the Cross for my sin, so that I can live forever in heaven and not hell, (and it does, and it is true) then it just dosn't make sense to me that I would disregard Genesis 1. And God created the heavens and the earth...and he created man in His own image, as a theory. I believe that the Whole Bible is Gods Word and that the Whole Bible is true. Any theory that states differently is mans wisdom and is foolishness. I also have studied this at length with my children and we have found there is much more scientific evidence that the Bible's account is true than evidence that evolution is true. I am not closed minded, just unwilling to believe anything that contradicts what God's Word says. Evolution is just a theory. Creation is God's account. This just seems to be a no brainer to me.
